Saturday Blog Thoughts

Welcome back to Jake’s House, I guess this counts as discourse now…

So again, where do we start? Where do we drop in this time?

Have you ever lost a job and questioned your purpose? Had to rebuild yourself? That’s where I find myself again as I have logged 6+ months working at my most recent job, and the advancement isn’t coming like they insinuated… Granted I didn’t check the jobs board this week, and the apathetic old heads don’t seem compelled to do much of anything, lord knows I’ve asked to be trained more.

So here we are, what do I really want to be doing and building for myself? I suppose the easy answer is: a media empire. A DIY media empire that seeks to operate with transparency. Bringing true information to the service by way of publicly available and accessible media assets. As media is a social enterprise, the ongoing exercise of audience building must be grounded in sustainable, true to life, multi platform narratives that bring people into the fold of what is actually going on in the world around them.

As we are brought into this world blind to its intricacies and interconnections, we must find the common threads that bring us together and archive it for future generations. While much of this is moot at the most macro scales, we find ourselves more than ever to be the creators of meaning and significance in our own lives and communities.

Just some thoughts on a misty Saturday morning in the LBC…
